Share Christmas

Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, all CIH programs in 2020 are cancelled.  We hope to be able to offer this program again in 2021.

Christmas International House (CIH) provides an opportunity to open our homes to international student guests when many dorms close during winter break and they may not be able to return home, or they want to experience Christmas with Americans. Every December, we host international students from colleges and universities across the United States who come to Atlanta to participate in the CIH program.

Host families and individuals are invited to share their homes with an international student (or two) for a 5 or 10 day period. Your responsibility is to provide the student with a bed, breakfast, take them to the CIH center at St. James United Methodist Church each morning, pick them up each evening, and share your holiday celebrations with them. Activities are provided for the students on most days.

CIH is a Christian ecumenical ministry that offers friendship to international students from around the country. This is a wonderful opportunity to show hospitality and get to know a student from another country, culture, and religion. CIH students are curious about American culture and have much to teach us as they share their international perspectives.  You will learn so much from the CIH students!

If you are interested in hosting an international student for 5 or 10 days December 2020, please e-mail office@amis-inc.org for more information.
